#talk 34: Writing & Friends

Dear readers,

Can I say thank you for all the emails sent to me about my fictions (Little Moon's Matchmaking Mission, The Sun's Dark Love and The Princess Who Cannot Marry)? Thank you for telling me how you enjoyed my works, thank you for telling me you are still waiting to read Yu An's story. I would like to say - it is not done, and I will continue! I've actually planned the whole story out long ago but I've been suffering from a lack of time. I'm very grateful to everyone's patience. I've been asked questions about it here and there, and I thought I would address it as a whole - yes, The Moon God will have his own story (his story will be the last in this universe)! There's supposed to be a story for the Destiny God and also another story for the Dark Princess Lan Ye (from The Sun's Dark Love) as well, but I don't know if I will ever have the opportunity to write it. I do hope I will get to write the Moon God's story one day - because he really is the beginning and end of the universe I planned.

I do have some modern stories planned and some other one-shots. Would anyone be interested in reading modern stories? Any preferences?

For all the love for my translations, thank you! I've been overwhelmed with work, but will work hard to finish the last chapter this weekend for Our Second Master. I'll return to Heavy Sweetness thereafter, and promise not to cheat on any other translation project.

Finally, I met klutzyfeli for lunch today! Haha. My first time meeting someone I got to know online, and it was fun. Also, the funniest thing was that klutzyfeli was surprised that I looked much younger than she thought I would be. I think my heart kind of died laughing when she said I looked like a student. Still, we also bonded over having other halves who had baby faces and looked younger than we did. #sorrowsofababyfacepartner

Would be pretty cool if all the c-novel fans in Singapore meet up one day!

 love,
decembi

  4. Hi, Decembi,
I have been a silent reader for a few months. Let me just tell you how grateful I am for all the translations and fictions you have done and written. I love, love, love your English translation, because you translate without the C-English influence (like putting 'ah', 'la', etc.) because it makes the stories easier to read.

Heavy Sweetness, Ash-Like Frost remains on top of my favourite C-novels list. So really, thank you for translating that novel because I freaking love it. *fangirl on Xu Feng's awesomeness*

I love the Little Moon's Matchmaking Mission and the following stories you have written. So far, my favourite character is Hsiao (and perhaps the An Hun, if he ever gets a story written about him as well). I really hope to read more of your stories soon, because they are really awesome!

Just curious, though, do you have a plan on translating modern stories?

All in all, thank you for juggling this blog's work in your schedule even though you must be very busy. This blog has given me a lot of happiness and influence to write about Chinese myth and fantasy. I am starting to indulge myself in C-novels because of this blog, too!

P.S: I used to study in Singapore. I just moved out in July. :)
Apology for the long comment. Fighting!

    1. Dear MrsDo EXO (this nickname is too cute!),

Thank you for your support. It makes me very happy. I try my best to translate my projects in a way that give me the same feeling when I read them in chinese. I think we all have our own unique translation styles and am very grateful that there are readers that like mine.

My heart burst whenever I hear of people liking Hsiao heehee. Yay. An Hun is one of the male leads for The Princess Who Cannot Marry. Thanks for the support - will try to update/post this month.

I do have modern stories on my translation wish-list! They are actually much easier for me to translate than ancient c-fictions. But, I need to finish Heavy Sweetness first.

      <3 Fighting!

  5. Čiao. I can imagine your babyface from your writing. chichichi. Full of childness. chichichi. I´ve never been in Asia, but maybe is Georgia Asia? Not sure, too much politics inside. chichi. But maybe one day I will visit your country. Looking forward. I would love read more of your stories. Concerning modern stories - I would prefer a timetravel. I love strong heroines which go back to the ancient time and show them the best modern woman. Oh, I am full of expectation. Kiss and have fun with your stories and translations. Thank you for them. Bye bye. Karol

    1. Hahaha! I welcome you to Singapore! It's rather like most modern Asian cities but it has a strong multi-racial background. Thank you for your expectation and wishes. <3 Look forward to sharing more with you soon.

  6. Yay!! I love your fiction and can't wait for more :D
Hehe, aww, I wish I had the baby-face-problem. I'm 21 but people always think I'm 24 or 25 because I look serious and not cute XD But hey, the grass is always greener on the other side.
Anyhow, I look forward to loads of future bliss thanks to your blog!

    1. Hahaha! Aww! But you know people who have a more mature face when they are younger, usually won't age that much after they pass their mid-twenties. Could turn out to be a boon later in life?

Thank you for the support <3

  7. I just finished reading your original stories the last week until today (along with the Second Master short). I work in Singapore but I'm not Singaporean. I love novels and wuxia + Chinese period films/drama (ahhh cannot forget Bu Bu Jing Xin) so I only recently got into translated c-novels and now I'm seriously hooked! Needless to say, I will continue hounding all you wonderful translators to fill my c-novel thirst hehehe. Thanks so much for all the hard work and also for sharing your own original stories!
