#talk 2: The Books of C-Novels

I've been looking out for the book versions of the c-novels to keep as a collection! There are quite a few versions with many different covers - so it's rather hard to decide haha. I used to want to buy Bu Bu Jing Xing, but I don't think I will ever read or watch it again honestly.

This is such a pretty version of the Pillow Book! It's Part 2 and it includes a set of postcards <3. But, there's no Part 1 :(.

This is another version of the Pillow Book that I found! It has Part 1 and Part 2 and also includes the postcards. The illustrations are so lovely... although I think I prefer the above one! Shall shop around more and decide later.

The last one is for Little Red. This is a version of the Little Prince which has the Chinese, English and French version all collated together. <3

  1. Hi :)
WOW...The art ! The pictures are sooo beautiful. The first version of PB is truly inspiring. ^^ The second one is also good, more explicit and so colorful.
I think chinese editors really pay attention to novel covers, it's always so fine-looking.

Hoo That's so nice of you ^^ I bought the ebook version but I didn't find the time to read Le Petit Prince yet. It's really interesting that there's a 3 languages version.
I think I'm gonna buy this book *-*

  2. The covers really entices me to buy the novels!!! :) Not all the books are beautifully illustrated, but these are particularly well packaged.

I hope you enjoy it! One day, I hope to be able to understand the french version too! Haha.

  3. BBJX has got a few versions. The earlier ones don't have Nicky & LSS on their covers. I don't advise you to buy it:) You can buy book 1 of The Pillow Book separately or together with book 2 on dangdang. I got book 1 but I decided not to buy book 2 since I am illiterate:( Instead I bought the artbook. I also got the artbook for Ten Miles of Peach Blossoms. The two Pillow books with Feng Jiu on the covers are the Taiwan version in Traditional Chinese writing.

Some of the novels have really nice covers as well as freebies especially Gu Man's books except Wei Wei. On the other hand, I also saw some books with awful covers or freebies. Sometime the Taiwan's versions have better covers or freebies so you better shop around to compare. All these are a huge improvements from the old Taiwan novels with the painting of the girl or guy on their covers, which I don't like. I like nearly all the book covers or freebies painted by Eno.

    1. OMG art books <3! I'm rather confused by dangdang - which is like a chinese messy amazon. Haha. But I shall go scout around and decide. The other problem is my luggage space, so I may order in Singapore instead.

      I love the freebies!

    2. Huh, is dang dang messy? I manage to navigate that site just by using google translated English only, lol. You can also buy from amazon.cn. You calculate the postage and cost. Maybe it is better for you to buy from that Book Plaza in Sg.

    3. *sheepish look* Yes. My sister is my online personal shopper, she does most of my transactions for me. Hahaha. So I found it a headache. My sister reads c-novels too, but she refuses to comment or say anything.

  4. I was shopping around, and I saw that the Bu Bu Jing Xin dvd box version that you have includes "exquisite postcards". Would you be willing to show what those postcards look like?
